Women’s Basketball: Addison Potts Commits! – Hammer and Rails

Coach Katie Gearlds and the crew have picked up their 4th commit for the class of 2022, after Addison Potts announced via social media that she would be taking her talents to West Lafayette.

Potts is a 4-star, 6’0 point guard from Seffner, Florida and a consensus Top 100 recruit. ESPN has her as the 89th overall prospect and the 20th best point guard in the class od 2022. She had been committed to Missouri since her 8th grade year before de-committing and flipping to the Boilermakers.

This is an extremely good get for Purdue, as Potts is versatile and could add a lot to the squad coming in. She has been playing varsity basketball since 7th grade… yes 7th grade. Her junior season was a bit of a down year compared to her previous three as she averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Her total varsity career line is 15.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while shooting 34% from three-point range.

She will now join fellow 2022 recruits Abigail Jegede, Lilly Stoddard, and Ainhoa Holzer with the Boilermakers. This is the second pledge since it was announced that Gearlds would be taking over for Sharon Versyp after the following season, with the first being McKenna Layden for the class of 2023.

Gearlds is building her future dynasty at Purdue and fans should be excited to see what is to come. Congrats to Addison, welcome aboard and Boiler Up!
