Boston College Men’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Non-Conference Schedule – BC Interruption

Earlier this morning, Boston College announced the non-conference schedule for this year’s men’s basketball season. Here’s the breakdown of which non-ACC opponents Earl Grant will be facing in his first year as BC’s head coach…

Dartmouth, November 9 at Conte Forum

The Eagles lead this series 22-8 and have won the last 7 meetings between the two teams. BC and Dartmouth last met in 2018, a game which BC won 86-72. Dartmouth did not play last season due to COVID-19, and they went 12-17 in 2019.

Holy Cross, November 12 at Conte Forum

The Eagles are slightly behind in this series, which Holy Cross leads 58-54. When these teams last met in 2012, however, BC won by a score of 70-60. The Crusaders really struggled last season, going just 5-11.

Fairfield, November 14 at Conte Forum

BC leads this series 27-11 and won the teams’ last meeting (in 2018) 77-67. Last season, Fairfield had a 10-17 record.

Rhode Island, November 17 in Kingston, RI

BC’s first road game of this season is against Rhode Island. The Eagles lead this series 37-14, but have lost their past 3 games against Rhode Island. The teams last met in 2012, with Rhode Island defeating BC 78-72 in double overtime. The Rams went 10-15 last season.

Utah, November 20 in Daytona Beach, FL

The Eagles will face Utah for just the 4th time ever as they head to Florida for the Sunshine Slam on November 20. Utah won the first two meetings between these teams, in 1966 and 1974, but BC picked up a 58-51 win in their 2004 match-up. Utah went 12-13 last season.

Tulsa or Rhode Island, November 21 in Daytona Beach, FL

In round 2 of the Sunshine Slam, BC will either face Rhode Island again, or will take on Tulsa. The Eagles have only played Tulsa once before, losing to the Golden Hurricanes 80-66 in 1999. Tulsa had an 11-12 record last season.

Columbia, November 26 at Conte Forum

The Eagles have played Columbia 3 times before, and have won all 3 games. The teams last met in 2018, when BC won 82-73. Columbia went 17-7 last season.

USF, November 29 at Conte Forum

BC and USF have only played once before, in 2019, a game which BC won 74-60. USF had a 9-13 record last season.

Saint Louis, December 11 in Saint Louis, MO

This will be the fifth ever meeting between BC and Saint Louis in a series which the Billikens lead 3-1. The teams last met in 2019, in what was truly the worst game of basketball I have ever been to in my life. Saint Louis won the game 64-54, but neither team played well. Last season, the Billikens went 14-7.

Albany, December 13 at Conte Forum

BC closes out the non-conference schedule with a home game against Albany. These teams met in 2019 for the first time and BC easily won that game by a score of 72-51. Albany had a 7-9 record last season.

Which non-conference game are you looking forward to the most?
