Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Myles Colvin Gets 2 Year, 500K Offer – Hammer and Rails

We knew he was talented.

Coach Painter identified Myles Colvin before anyone else and gave him his dream scholarship offer.

It took less than a month for him to commit.

But, in today’s world, athletes can be paid and forced to make early decisions.

The 16 year old now has a 2 year, 500K offer from Overtime Elite.

This isn’t just a small amount of cash, it is a challenge to Purdue.

Overtime Elite is an upstart league, where he will mostly take classes in regards to learning about his NIL, and finances, rather than his normal high school courses.

But, accepting the $ makes Myles Ineligible for our Purdue Boilermakers.

There are pros and cons.

500K is a lot of money. If he wasn’t the son of a former NFL player that has made millions, I think he would have already signed.

What type of exposure will he get there? Is it anymore than an AAU circuit? He can no longer be recruited going there. Will he ever be nationally televised?

At Purdue, a few things can happen.

One – He can now make money on his NIL, maybe not 500K right off the bat, but if he comes and takes the B1G by storm, anything can happen. Imagine what Carsen would have made.

Grade A exposure, nationally televised games all the time.

A dream fulfilled. Myles has always wanted to be a Boilermaker. He can join his family in a long line of Boilers.

It is a tough choice, but I would not rule out Purdue, just yet.
